circles circles and more circles!

Good Evening!

the nights begin to draw in now and it feels quite chilly, it seems to go Chatsworth Show, Goose Fair, Halloween, Bonfire Night and then Xmas!  Where on earth does the time go - is it an age thing or does time go faster the older you are????  In which case it goes really slow for me then!!!

Mixed Media Monthly has a photo inspiration for the challenge and here it is

The mixed media monthly challenge blog

So basically you take any element of the photo - colours, shapes etc.  I took the shapes - Circles -
and created an assemblage

first of all I gathered together all my circles ........an old tin (I think it held grinding discs), a used DVD, papers with clocks, bottle top inserts, the end off my old curtain pole, wire and butterflies.

I coloured the DVD using Alcohol inks and set aside to dry, then snipped away at the middle using some wire cutters so that I could slide it over the curtain pole end.

I covered up the messy bit with a Tim Holtz collage clock.  I covered the tin lid with the clock paper, and then punched out the bottle cap inserts and attached them around the edge using tabbies.
the curtain pole edge is glued onto the tin using Ranger Multi medium.   The hand in the middle is from a Cat Jack and curio free download.
The butterflies are attached using florist wire (very thin) and the edge of the tin finished with sticky back tape.

I dont have much time this week but really wanted to enter, so its a quick assemblage - but sometimes they are often the most successful!

Thank you for visiting - I hope you feel inspired to pull down your curtains and use the ends for crafting!!!

Have a great week!

You do make such fascinating artwork/installations. You just happened to have a handy hand, and a collage clock to cover up a "messy bit", and that's great idea to paint a CD with alcohol inks, must remember that. All very foreign to me but that's why I love to come here.
